Jandek is one of my favorite musicians. Breaking boundaries of  what people think is 'normal' in terms

of conventional playing. His music brings a stark haunting atmosphere and intimate emotion. This new album from jandek is a mix of artrock, noise and some jazzy experimentions. Everything I liked about all his releases plus his first live performance "Glassgow Sunday" is brought out on this disc. In my opinion it is the best Jandek disc of this era as far as studio work. So if you are a fan of Jandek or odd experimental music this is A MUST HAVE! This Ep starts off with the harsh cold "Biomass Repulsion" with noisey

tones and blackened vocals. Next up is "Melancholy" which evokes a symphony of space

with stark beauty, in a shoegazey fashion. "Zero Sun" picks up with Black Ambient /black noise with the classic cold space atmosphere of the project. Reminds me of Dark Space if they were a noise project. After that we have "Symphony Of  Stars" which is just amazing. Long draw out tones reminding me of an outer-space symphony played by alien beings. The Ep finishes off with "Gnosis" a cold harsh noise track reminding me off failing space equipment. Amazing ep, but this extremely unique Blackened space drone ambient project. If you ever wonder what it would sound like if Varg's Dark ambient albums, and Brian Lustmord had musical sex and had a baby of dark ambient music? Well Prosektor is Just that sound. Elements of Dark neo classical with deep dark plunging ambience (ala lustmord). Gives you the complete sense of emptiness, the feeling as though eyes are watching you in a haunted mental ward. This edition was released on one of my favorite russian labels, who may not release in large editions but are no strangers to quality in packaging and music. This cassette is only limited to 30 copies so I suggest you pick it up. A must have for any true dark ambient fan!

What can I say, first of all Nathan Watson is an amazing guy and musician.

Owner of the wonderful DIY label Frozen Tendril Records. Barad-Dur is one

of his many projects. This EP is a wonderful mix of raw (almost old school 90's) black metal,

Doom metal and great ambient. The E.P starts of with the scratches of possibly vinyl and distant piano, than goes right into a clean yet depressive guitar driven melodies. (Also I need to add nathan's vocal style is very powerful, and stands out in the music with out over powering) after tha clean guitar the first track (The Self-Destructive Mindset) explodes into a brief moment of heavy slow tempo. It than resembles the early cold 90's black metal, with super catchy riffs and powerful blast beats. I won't give away the whole album, which you need to own if you don't already have it. The last ambient track is a real treat! this is a total journey album from cold black metal to crushing bottom heavy doom into relaxing yet dark ambient.

Nebula VII is a project whom I have had the pleasure to work with a few months back on a split.

The Project has been active since around the same time I have started my own project. I have been a fan since last year. Alienation, Worship, Paranoia shows the complex growth of the project. This EP is everything I love about music rolled into one package. Cold harsh soundscapes, beautiful yet haunting ambience, powerful drum beats and ghostly blackend vocals. From the last album Shining of the bleak energy, Nebula VII as even grown. I thought nothing could top the sounds of that album but VII has shown us this is just the prototype.
